The “Whole of Bay of Islands” 2-hour Express Tour
Do you have minimal time in the Bay of Islands?
No problems, how about a 2-hour Express tour out to the famous “hole in the Rock” and a Parasail trip at 1300ft of towline. Both these experiences can be done in half a day.
We cruise through stunning islands and remote beaches on our way to the world-famous “Hole in the Rock”-Motu Kōkako. All our skippers have great local knowledge and know all the stories about the Bay of Islands (some of which might even be true).
This tour is suitable for all family members.
Along the way, we might come across a variety of marine mammals that regularly visit the Bay of Islands.
Your tour is onboard an open speed boat. Warm clothes/wind jackets are mandatory for cooler days on the water. You can also bring a small bag with some spare clothes or snacks and drinks.
Motu Kōkako–It is probably the most important island in the Bay of Islands in conservation terms, being in near pristine condition, with no evidence of introduced animals. A 1987 survey of the island found 99 different types of flora, and noted the presence of two types of petrels and lizards.
According to Maori legend, local warriors used to paddle through the Hole in the Rock in their canoes before departing for battle. Drops of water from the cave roof above were a good omen.
